Kitchen and Bath Remodel Gallery

Kitchen and bath remodel is one of our specialties. We provide tailored jobs to homeowners at any level, from drywall and tile only, to fully customized bathrooms and kitchens. We make sure to document our progress every day, resulting in a catalog of thousands of pictures. Below are some of these pictures, I could definitely say one-thousand words for every one of them.

Battle Ground Custom Luxury Bathroom

Our project started by ripping up the old subfloor and relocating the drainpipe for the shower. Then we added a custom shower pan and curb for river rock on the shower floor. The shower walls got slate rock with a large niche. Installed heated flooring and wood-patterned floor tile. A wave-pattern tile on the accent wall has an awesome effect when the backlit mirror is turned on. A new light was added to the shower, as well as new vent fan. Everything on this job was customized, from the soft-close shower door to the extra outlets installed under the vanity. This is one of my favorite projects we have done.

Z Street Shower

We removed the tub in this bathroom and installed a prefabricated shower pan. Then added a large niche, tiled to the ceiling with a frame around the niche. Installed over-sized sliding glass doors, making this small bathroom feel like a much larger space.

Hidden House Shower

The Hidden Brick Company was founded in Vancouver in 1871 and was paramount in early construction of the city. The company’s founder built himself a house out of his own bricks, which is where this shower replacement happened. The upstairs shower was leaking and in need of replacing; the current residents required grab bars and easier access to the shower valve. Every home has a story, but this one is a veritable time capsule of Vancouver’s history.

Cascade Park Tub and Tile

This project started with replacing the bathtub. Then we tiled to the ceiling with a beautiful marble-print tile and installed a new vent fan for this bathroom. We can do “one-day” re-baths, but these relatively quick tile jobs are much more satisfying in the end both for us as craftsmen and for the homeowners as the shower-takers.

Harney Bathroom 1

I met a couple who had moved from Texas into a 60’s era home that had never been renovated. It had original carpet, paneling, and fixtures, it was in serious need of whole-home kitchen and bath remodel. We were hired to remodel two full bathrooms, convert a half bath into a full bath, and remodel the kitchen. We started with this bathroom, replaced the tub, tile to the ceiling, a niche, tile floor, a custom vanity with new wall sconces, new vent fan, and light above shower.

Harney Bathroom 2

We converted the closet in the front entrance of the house into a shower in the bedroom. This was definitely a unique situation, but we were able to pull it off and provide a master-bath shower where there were only cabinets before. We built a custom shower pan and curb, tiled up to the ceiling, a niche, around the curb, and the floor. Installed a new vanity, ceiling fan, and light above the shower.

Harney Kitchen

Once the two upstairs bathrooms were complete in this split-level home, we moved onto the kitchen. New cabinets, appliances, fixtures and finishes. The biggest challenge here was matching the ceiling texture to that of the original 1960’s texture in the dining room. We removed overhead cabinets and an island area, as well as a wall to give more space to the kitchen area. We added under-cabinet lighting, ran a new water line for an icemaker, electrical for dish washer, new breaker at the panel for the microwave, and of course finished with subway tile to match the theme in the rest of the house.

Harney Bathroom 3

This was the downstairs bathroom in this Harney home. We kept it simple here and matched the other bathrooms, but with laminate flooring instead of tile. We knocked down a wall that had the shower valve on it and moved the valve to the other side of the shower. Then added a pedestal sink to give this cramped bathroom a more spacious feel.

PDX Remodel on 1904 bathroom

We demo’ed the original lathe and plaster walls that were cracking and falling apart in this second-floor bathroom and replaced with smooth-sanded drywall. We upgraded the shower valve and ran a shower head into the ceiling. Installed a new heater. Tile surround the tub and niche, as well as on the slanted ceiling above the shower. Historic Portland homes always have a unique story to tell, and unique logistical challenges.
